The Pushkar Fair in Pushkar (Rajasthan,India), is one of the largest camel and Cattle fairs in India and one of its kinds in the world. For the Hindus, this town is considered among the holiest of towns in India.
Thousands of people- cattle traders, shopkeepers, merchants, dancers, musicians and artisans among them- congregate here for the fair, besides holding the distinction of being India’s largest cattle fair this is a memorable cocktail of sights, smells and sounds which bring together everything Rajasthani.
About 8000 foreign tourists visited this fair last year and more than 100,000 local tourists every day and the number increases to double on the last day i.e. on full moon.
